1. Doctrine won't be included in symfony 1.1 because it requires PHP 5.2 
and is under a major refactoring right now (symfony 1.1 required PHP 5.1).

1.1 It's better to use symfony 1.0 as it is very stable. 1.1 is still 
alpha and lot of changes in the internals will occur till the end of 
August. Even if we try to stay BC with symfony 1.0, they will be some 
changes. There is no upgrade script from 1.0 to 1.1 for now. We will 
write the upgrade script when all the refactoring will be finished.
