Hey, Check out sfLucene, which integrates Zend Search Lucene into your symfony application: http://trac.symfony-project.com/wiki/sfLucenePlugin
For your particular problem, you have to tell Zend Search Lucene to use a number analyzer. By default, Zend Search Lucene does not index numbers.
