ahh. Thanks for the explanation. I guess it must be some under the
covers apache thing. DirectoryIndex documentation does not mention it
(http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_dir.html)

A separate project for each...? No there will be a lot of shared bits
