I already use XAMPP 1.6.8
Another issue is that even without the second embedRelation this piece
of code raises the same exception:

public function executeNew(sfWebRequest $request)
  {
        $teammatch = new Teammatch();

        $badmintonMatches = array('1.HD', 'DD', '2.HD', 'DE', 'Mix',
'1.HE', '2.HE', '3.HE');
        foreach ($badmintonMatches as $badmintonMatchType) {
                $match = new Match();
                $match['match_type'] = $badmintonMatchType;
                $teammatch['Matches'][] = $match;
        }

    $this->form = new TeammatchForm($teammatch);
  }

Do you know why this happens or have a workaround? I don't really
think it has to do with apache.
But you can assure that recursive embedRelations do work for you?
