Not to mention that I also submitted this exact same question to this mailing list not too long ago and the shortened response was yes there will be a way to upgrade but it wont be as seamless as say 1.2 -> 1.3 and will require some additional work to transform the application, but the Symfony developers will be working to try and make it as easy as possible
