You use getFirst() method ... you have only one record in the result
Better would be something like $result->getContent(); ?
And maybe better would be better this at all:
$q = Doctrine::getTable('DocumentTplSection')->
->createQuery('ds')
->where('ds.id = ?', 7);
$q->fetchOne();
