New issue report by ondrej.certik: The current parser uses the parser module, that is deprecated. I rewrote it using the python2.6 ast module: http://github.com/certik/sympy/tree/ast All tests pass, except sympify("lambda x: x"), because I haven't implemented lambda yet. And it will almost work on jython.
