hmm it looks like the tensor.py example never worked and there isn't any  
documentation for me to try to figure
it out.

I can add the __getitem__ and get the g[i.up, m.up] interface working but I  
don't know what the g[m.dn,
k.dn].diff(l.up)  is suppose to do.  Right now it will just give zero since  
g doesn't depend on l.up.

Perhaps we should delete this example and once issue 16 is resolved get it  
working.  I'll go ahead and push what
I have to my repo incase someone knows what to do here.
