Maybe an additional note for this patch. The idea is to keep the  
functionality
minimal at first instance. The next step will be an extension to a wide  
range of
target languages. Then we can add more features in terms of the Routine data
structure. This approach will guarantee that each new feature in the Routine
specification is well tested in all possible target languages. Just to say  
that
adding languages (other than C) as an aftertought is a recipe for misery.
