Thank you for the fast reply and the patch! The attached patch works beautifully for the test case. In my opinion a substitute of the summation variable is not necessary. Basically this variable has no meaning outside of the sum, so there is not many reasons that I can think of to change it afterward. Unfortunately I tripped over another issue in the summation.
