I'm attaching a patch with an additional test. I gave up on formulating a  
test case
that doesn't depend on hash values. I'm not sure that the second case can be
triggered with fewer than three terms, and it looks like the non-x**0 terms  
are
always ordered by the hash, so more than two terms always produces  
unpredictable
ordering.
