Very cool. One thing to keep in mind is that sympy has a large suite of  
tests, none
of which are supposed to fail: run 'python setup.py test'. Some of these  
now break
with your patch applied. It would be good if these could be investigated  
(and fixed),
and of course new test cases for the code you added/changed would be most  
welcome.
When adding tests the tool bin/coverage_report.py will help highlight code  
paths that
are not yet covered.
