I believe that all the code I wrote or corrected uses proper coding style.  
Where are
the instances of incorrect style in the patches?

I don't understand how the failures can be related to the patches either  
(and I don't
see them on my system).

Are you sure you applied the patches correctly ("git rebase master
cos-infinite-recursion-2" or synonym)? Line numbers for tests seem to be  
off.
