My example was a very much simplified version of an actual problem I'm  
working with, which requires solving
two different ODEs, where the second ODE depends on the result of the first  
(neither is linear). The constants
gets jumbled up which is a problem. This is quite a serious "impediment"  
for me though I can work around
easily, of course. Can we not just modify dsolve to leave any C_i in the  
original equation alone? If that would suit
the current state of things and would be relatively easy to do, then I'd be  
happy to have a go at it.
