I honestly could go either way (I put this here because of an post to the
mailing list), but let's see what the
consensus is. What is the reason that you consider vectorize harmful? I
was thinking that we should use it
more.
As for the function, it sometimes confuses me when switching between Maple
and SymPy, but it doesn't really
matter. I originally was thinking that it would make map() easier, but I
didn't realize that it has two arguments,
so it would have to be a lambda function anyway.
