This most likely stems from the line if e.is_negative: l=l.reverse()  
because in the
cursory patch I offered, l.reverse() is the same as l so that line is no  
longer doing
anything useful.

I was just trying to offer some direction as to where the problem seemed to  
stem from.
I haven't dug too deep and I apologize that the patch was subpar.
