Well, if the code outside of factorint() is really faster, then it should be moved into factorint(). The point is that we shouldn't have a separate implementation buried in numbers.py.

Can you go ahead and push the pull request button in GibHub for your 2003 branch? Send it to sympy/sympy:master.
