I have code[1] to fix this and several of the other issues that I reported
separately. It extends upon the operatorname branch I was working on in PR
1981[2] the nicer printing of single-letter functions, but there are some
things in there that people may want to discuss, which is why I didn't just
put it as part of that pull request. Also, I had rebased. Things will not
be fully fixed until the fix for S.Pi[3] is merged.
