I think returning Interval(-1,1) for sin(oo) combined with interval arithmetic will solve this issue.
Because
limit((1+x/(n+sin(y)))**n,n,oo)
exp(x)
returns the correct result.
I'm working on implementing interval arithmetic and will return with a pull request soon.
