Function should have an explicit meaning. If we realize that a function does the job of two or more, we should split it. Adding options managers is the option of last resort for me (you can see what mess we have in expand() and how much effort was needed to implement good options manager in polys).
I think we should make it replace(sin(a), cos(a))
