The next version of IPython will be released quite soon (in the next month) and will have many new features that users will want to upgrade quickly for. Unless you want isympy and the tests suite to break for all of those users, you should wait. I don't think you have to wait until IPython is released, just until we finish our code review (this week) and merge the code into trunk. Once that is done, fixing things in sympy should not be too difficult. All of this won't happen it 1-2 days, more like a week, but in my mind, it is very worth waiting for. I can help push things through on the IPython side if Ondrej can help out with the sympy side of things.
