Perhaps we should leave this open, noting that the added functions largely duplicate existing functions (variations and cartes in iterables) that should be re-written in terms of the functions that got added to compatibility. In fact, should the special names cartes and variations could just be made to be aliases of the added function. Note, too, that `product` clashes with the existing `product`.
