Last year we had a student group from UCD implement series in SymEngine that was a positive experience for all involved. The call for proposals is open again this year and the deadline is Dec 1. I plan to submit a proposal again and maybe others would too. Keep in mind that this requires mentoring if you want to ensure a good result. Here is the info:

In this class, student teams respond to client design challenges by planning, implementing, and evaluating projects involving computational and computer systems.
