Those multipart headers are actually (from the POP3-server's viewpoint)
just part of the message body since they come after the initial message
headers.

No. POP3 doesn't have anything like that; it's not designed for anything
other than simple mail. If you want something like that, you need to use
something a bit more advanced like IMAP4.

The number of header lines depends on what the server considers "a line
of the message".
