Hm... I tried using synapse as the client and net-snmp's snmpd as the server, and it does appear to authenticate correctly (I tried both SNMP GET and SET operations). So the problem must be my authorization code.
So what we have is: synapse client -> my synapse authorization = WORKS synapse client -> other authorization = WORKS other client -> my synapse authorization = DOESN'T WORK Meh. I guess I'll have to go through the netsnmp code and see what's happening differently. Really frustrating! -SG > Thanks for the response.
