Actually I don't find the IDE bad. I think it's easier to use than
the independent windows in D7 and earlier versions.

However, D8 is for .NET and is not useful for a lot of people and
D2005 is very slow and not stable. I actually think D2006 is pretty
good, much faster and much more stable than D2006. It's still slow,
though, because it invokes some .NET components. You can avoid loading
the .NET components with Delph Distiller in D2007. It should get a lot
faster.
