Note that
{$ifdef Linux} {$define unix} {$endif}
should be enough for Kylix sake. Indy does this, roughly implementing
the "systematic multi compiler,target,version defines" proposal in
http://www.stack.nl/~marcov/porting.pdf
which works very well.
