What would happen in a situation where I use a friend's computer or public computer to check facebook? Would we just start autosyncing everything to that system? What happens if I then panic and start deleting things because I don't want my data there and I have no idea what's going on? What happens when I'm done and forget to clear my cookies, or someone else comes along after me and deletes all that data? We should never surprise the user, particularly in situations where their personal data is involved. The act of initiating a sync to a new device should be something the user does explicitly, given the chance of personal data leakage or potential data loss. If Firefox somehow inferred who I was based off my Facebook cookie and started doing things for me on my behalf, I would be alarmed, to say the least. ~ d _______________________________________________ Sync-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/sync-dev
