I wasn't at the talk but I would reframe this as open platforms/alternatives vs 
giant's silos. We don't want to build a competing silo.

Really, it's how can Mozilla facilitate user choice across these platforms? 
Persona is a user controlled, federated alternative to the nascar of auth 
systems.  How can we build great UX with a user chosen attached services?
