As far as I recall, there's no way for Android to decide to use a new GUID
for an existing item other than by reconciling an incoming record. (In that
respect it's like desktop.) — but see (1), below.

Assuming you never bookmarked that URL as a livemark on Android, that
leaves two questions:

1. How might a duplicate have arisen?

- Does any platform allocate a new GUID when a GUID collides but has a
different type?
- Bookmark restore/import from backup without GUIDs.
- Genuinely bookmarking it twice.
- Using one of the feed add-ons/home panels on Android?

2. How might Android or desktop have mis-duped?

- Failure to delete the original server record.
- Partial write.
- Seeing a reconcile in progress by another client?
- …?
