Hi All,

After recently returning from PTO, I spent a bit of time trying to get back
up to speed on the status of our various rust-components efforts, and I
found it was pretty hard to get a good sense of the big-picture status of
things. We have a roadmap that talks about the "how" of what we're
building, and we have some individual docs and/or github milestones for the
specific bits that we're working on right now, but I couldn't find a good
source of truth for "what are all the things we plan to build, and what is
their status?"

I like the way the android-components repo talks about its various pieces,
how they fit together, and the status of each piece:

https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/android-components/#architecture-and-overview
  https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/android-components/#components

What do you think about trying something similar for the
application-services repo?

I made a bit of a start on such a thing in a google doc here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TYZgTgFRxxOinQc5-WYm1b9_KdqODTkKh36c0-QNT60/

I've almost certainly missed some things, and gotten the status wrong on
some others. Please take a look and let me know where I've done so!

I don't think this should live in a google doc long term, but it's a
convenient place to start. As we work through the details of code
organization and build process for interfacing with the android-components
repo, it might also be a good opportunity to find a home for this
information in the github repo itself.

Thoughts?

   Cheers,

     Ryan
