In http://tahoe-lafs.org/trac/tahoe-lafs/wiki/RelatedProjects there is a hadoop client: http://code.google.com/p/hadoop-lafs/ Which has a Java backend for Tahoe-LAFS in it. I don't do Java quite yet, but it could be the easiest thing to port. It just uses http requests and such.
