Hi All, Thanks for your help today. Problem resolved.
Patrick nailed it - manual copying of /usr/etc files is no good. The proper approach is instead: syncevolution --configure --sync-property "username=XXX" --sync-property "password=XXX" Funambol I just did a Funambol sync for the first time after months (years?) without syncing, and it just worked. Incredible. Regarding the documentation, it's fine. This problem was completely my fault. Analysing my behavior though (for your continual improvement purposes) as a seasoned linux guy who is used to hacking config directly, and past user of syncevolution, I guess I mistakenly thought that a 'cp -r' was the quickest way to get started, and assumed that the /usr/etc stuff was operational base config. I'm guessing that it will trick others in future too. Thanks again, J.
