One should only ping when new content is added. It's not necessary to do this every time. It's certainly NOT acceptable to ping unless actual new content is added. It's up to the authoring site. Consider also that a ping schedule might also want to mirror how frequently you'd expect someone to come read the newsfeed. If the feed doesn't change more than once a day then perhaps it's best to not ping any more frequently than that (even on the odd day that might actually have more frequent updates). -Bill Kearney Syndic8.com ------------------------ Yahoo!
