Sometimes, the gradient is successfully manipulated when the duck is moved slightly, but does not appear to be related to distance moved as crashes occur most of the time. Synfig also crashes when the gradient is encapsulated in a rectangle. (Sorry that I have not added the gdb backtrace, because I have no idea how to obtain it.
