Thanks for correcting, yes, falloff is for circle layer only.
And in fact, the falloff option affect circle layer only, the rest layer types created by circle tool which have feather and feather type parameters are not connecting to this option. So if we disable these feather and falloff type options when user doesn't intend to create circle layer. Also, would be nice to have tool tips saying "this is for xxx & yyy layers" for each option.

Falloff is only for Circle layer and it is special due to the particularities of the Circle's geometry. The feather value is function of the radius distance so no other shape can have that kind of special feather. It is not a blur it is a alpha value variable with the radius.
In the other layers, the feather is just a blur type applied on the shape. It can be not only Gaussian blur but Box blur, Cross blur etc. as you already know.

Hello,
I have been working on tool option panel improvement recently, and found there is a setting I am not able to figure out.
There is a falloff dropdown in Circle tool options panel, which contains five sub options, and the layers created by the tool has corresponding parameter as well, except Region Layer, in region layer's parameter panel, there is no falloff parameter instead, there is feather type available which contains five possible values.
The questions : can we have same terms for region layer than other layers? Are those feather types of region layer equal to falloff parameter of others literally ?
Cheers
