Ah, gotcha. Very valid. I think what I would like to see is the MIB (at very least) supported by the various OpenSolaris distributions. From there, it may possibly organically get adopted by the Net-SNMP community. If the MIB is part of the (Open)Solaris releases, it would make sense for the NetSNMP community to adopt/endorse it. In the long run, I would really like to see a full implementation, using Net-SNMP, described and mapped out, with clients and a generic framework. When I last looked at this, I found it still too immature and poorly/vaguely documented. That said, I must confess that I do not know how much time or technical smarts I can bring to the table. :-( I just know it's a task that sorely needs doing.
