Paul,

Do you have a request or preference for your masscheck rsync account name? pfowler or titanhq?

Setting up your own ruleqa processing could be a bit of a challenge. The scripts were written in a different style than it use for ouput of logging and debugging. I suspect these were written a long time ago on a different shell originally. It took me a couple of month to figure out all the parts and update the scripts to get it running on the current sa-vm1.apache.org Ubuntu 16.04 LTS server.

Everything you need is in the SA SVN and my documentation is here:

Yes though I can't say it will be easy to light your own system.  Dave Jones is the person to ask about that if he has time.

Hi Kevin,

I have one question I was hoping you could guide me with which is not clear to me regarding the RuleQA app.

I am looking to run a masscheck job for my own custom rules as well as spamassassin rules.

I presume that the RuleQA app doesn’t cater for custom rules, so can the RuleQA application be setup to run locally for custom rules?

I am only asking as there seems to be some solaris scripts in the rule-qa folder.

Thanks & Regards,

Paul

    Hi Kevin,

Yes your correct, I meant the date mentioned in the article.

“…..NOTE: New masscheck contributors are now being accepted since
    about 2012-08-09.”

As it was many years ago I was unsure if this was old information.

Still good information.  There was a time where no one knew how to add new people.

We might be a bit slow on it but we have the infrastructure working again and appreciate it.  Plus we like getting those interested in analysis involved!

KAM

    Cheers,

    Paul

Hi Paul, thanks for the inquiry.  I've forwarded your request to
    our sysadmins group.

However what did you mean about the date of acceptance 6 years
ago?  You mean the date on the article?

    KAM

        Hi,

It is unclear from the spamassassin wiki if you are still
excepting masscheck contributors as the acceptance date was
over 6 years ago. If you are then I believe I can contribute.

I am working on a small project to improve our custom rules. I
have setup and tested locally masscheck against some small
spam and ham data set’s and I would like to take it one step
further and start contributing data back to the project. I am
currently working on putting together some decent corpus to
run larger tests with. Ideally my plan would be to run 2 jobs,
one for our own rules and one for spamassassin rules.

        Thanks & Regards,

        Paul
