Well, if you wanna read about system 6 file servers, take a look at
Gamba's page. He has done a good job there. I tried some of the apps
on his page, aqnd discoverd that AppleShare was the way to go.
I will start devoting a page to filesharing with os x as soon as 10.1
comes out an I've been able to set things up. The current release
doesn't support appletalk file sharing, but after a lot of pressure
from users, Apple decided to put that back in their operating system.
They were aiming at a tcp/ip only network, but that was not a smart
move considering the fact that lots of schools and businesses use
relatively old computers as servers.
I guess mac os 9 and x will work beautifully with system 6
filesharing, because appletalk is appletalk.
