I own a Classic Mac 68K, on which I do all my routine paperwork. I also have
a Windows computer which is connected to the Internet, and which is almost
exclusively used for surfing and for E-Mail.
Now here goes: I regularly empty my mailbox after having saved my messages
on a floppy. This floppy then goes into my Mac where I retrieve my messages
and save them in a HyperCard stack.
This would be a smooth operation, were it not that I regularly receive
messages in French. When retrieving these on the Mac, the French punctuation
marks (like , , , ) are not properly converted and appear as little
squares or other unusual characters. Incidentally, the HyperCard format is
not to blame, since the same thing occurs when I save in TeachText or
WordPerfect.
Would anybody have a clue as to how to solve this one?
