Well, I asked the guy who came up with this appletalking between system 6 and to

os x stuff about your problem and he gave me the following  answer:

"Yes, this happens for me, too. I didn�t realize it before because I used
the share only to transfer files from the Mac OS X volume to the System
6 machine. I mount the volume from Mac OS X to a System 7.1 Colour
Classic via ethernet, and the Colour Classic has full write-access. On
the CC, the LocalTalk Bridge routes AppleTalk to LocalTalk, and the
System 6.0.7 Classic mounts the same Mac OS X volume only locked. Access
rights are ok (writable), but the volume is just locked. I assume an
AppleShare protocoll incompatibility of Mac OS X. Maybe Apple hasn�t
release the AppleTalk file sharing for Mac OS X officially (but only
AppleShare via TCP/IP), because the software is not bug free?"

Well, lets hope Apple will come up with a bug fix. In the mean time I'll correct

the info in the System 6 Heaven.
