Well, you have a few options. You can run Apple's 68k Development System in OS6, as well as MacPascal and a few c compilers. You can download a bunch of them from System 6 heaven: http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/development.html. >> I think I was told about Hypercard but I don't know what it >>> is and how I can >> use it, how it is like for a programming >>> >> language etc. Can it run on a >> pre-System 6 machine? HyperCard is a versitle cardstack application that can function as anything from a database to a role playing game. It certainly has development potential, but without knowing what you are trying to write, it is tough to say whether hypercard would suit your needs. Do a google search for "hypercard programming" and you will turn up plenty of useful sites. As far as pre-System 6 machines and hypercard (you are talking about the 128k I presume) you just need a version of hypercard that will run in the OS of your choice. Hypercard was around long before system 6! >> What IDE/tools can I use to program something that will >> >> run on a Mac 128? Is >> there any IDE/tool which runs on OS >> X that will let me compile for System <=6?> You can use Apple's own "Macintosh Programmer's Workshop' (in Classic). You'll find info on writing for System 6 and a link to download the Software at: http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/developtoday.html. Good luck!
