I tend to agree.  If you look at many license "agreements" you'll find that
most of them disclaim any responsibility for the product they sold you.  As
far as they are concerned, they could have sold you an empty box and you
would have no legal recourse.  Heck, you could have a signed contract (ie.
something with legal weight) from every executive of the company saying that
the box won't be empty ... and the box could still be empty, and you would
have no legal recourse, as far as the license agreement is concerned.
Whether oor not this is legal is beyond me, but I don't feel like gambling
with the legal system.

Because of this, I suspect that the refusal to release legacy software is an
IP issue -- and has nothing to do with support.
