That's a bit surprising. test-libsystemd-sym has test-libsystemd-sym.c in sources, which in turn has src/libsystemd/libsystemd.sym as prerequisite, so the tests should be rebuilt when .sym is modified. And indeed, when I do that, .c gets regenerated and the test is rebuilt.
