COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Aug 16 AP - Wilson Kipketer, the world-record holder at
800 metres from Denmark, has been cleared by doctors to compete at the
Sydney Olympics, Danish media reported today.

Kipketer, a gold medal favourite in the event, sustained a leg muscle injury
after winning the 800m on June 23 in Helsinki, Finland, in 1 minute 44.27
seconds, one of the fastest times of the year.

He has not competed since, but expects to run again in the Golden League
meet in Brussels, Belgium, on August 25 or in another meet the following day
at Gateshead, England.
