It is actually better than that, it is exact. Now for something that may be
hard for you metrically challenged people to hear: Sit down first. The foot is
actually defined in terms of the meter. 1 foot equals 0.3048 meters by federal
law; this has been true for many years. Sorry to have to be the one to tell
you. :-)
