We are promised hundreds of hours of live coverage of the Sydney
Olympics, in which teams of pharmacists from all five continents will
compete to concoct the most effective chemical boosters for their puppet
athletes to inject, swallow or stick up their backsides.

The television trade expects the Olympics to
create a boom in the sale of 32-inch digital sets, with crystal-clear
pictures. Manufacturers promise that reception on these new screens
will be so good that we'll be able to see the needle marks in the
athlete's arms. Which is more than can be said for the Olympics drug
testers.
