Diagana pulls out of 400 metres hurdles

SYDNEY, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Frenchman Stephane Diagana, 400 metres hurdles
world champion in 1997 and silver-medallist last year, pulled out of the
Olympics with a knee injury, the French federation said on Friday.

Hampered by the injury to his right knee for the past month, Diagana, 31, had
been training in Perth for the past two weeks, hoping to be fit in time for
the Olympic competition.

But a test on Friday ruled him out.
