FAVOR HAMILTON BLAMES LOSS ON MEDICATION
Compiled by Jack Thompson
October 5, 2000
Wisconsin runner Suzy Favor Hamilton now blames effects of anti-inflammatory
pills she was taking for contributing to her fall in the finals of the
1,500-meter run at the Sydney Olympics.
"That makes me angry, that I should have known better," Favor Hamilton told
The Capital Times of Madison on Wednesday. "And I have to take the blame for
that, because I should have known better."
She said she began taking Relafen and the over-the-counter medicine Aleve
three weeks before the Summer Games to combat lingering hamstring soreness
that had flared up late in the summer.
