No worries here Paul. North American sportwriters are paying absolutely no attention
to Track and.... 'er ... Athletics and don't give a rat's ass who wins AOY in our
sport. They might know Zelezny but only as a guy who had a tryout with the Atlanta
Braves baseball team after the '96 games. Based on this past week's results they could
have used him.
Walkers, throwers, runners, jumpers and even the men and women who do all of them
should all be equally eligible for the AOY. If not why not take a poll of the the most
popular event and pick the best of that lot. If Korzeniowski had the best year he
should get the award.
